Whether You Spend a Day or a Lifetime, It Is Time Well Spent!

Davie County is an ideal destination for a weekend outing that’s close to home. We are a perfect stop on your way to the beach or the mountains or a refreshing break on the trip back. Recreationally and culturally, Davie County offers scenic trails for walking or horseback riding, beautiful camping facilities, year-round recreation programs, festivals and special events.

Thousands gather throughout the year to attend community fairs, festivals and events like the Daniel Boone Festival in the spring; the Fireworks in the Park on the 4th of July, and the Historic Masonic Picnic in the summer; the Textile Heritage Festival in Cooleemee during the fall; and a Hometown Christmas celebration in the winter. For the artist in you, the Brock Performing Arts Center offers live performances and programs for the entire family.

Nestled in Historic Downtown Mocksville is Davie County’s only amphitheatre, Junker’s Mill.  Junker’s Mill hosts numerous events throughout the year including music venues and festivals.  For information about events at Junker’s Mill contact the Town of Mocksville at 336-753-6700.

If you are looking for the beauty of a campsite, our county offers the finest in camping facilities and activities, drawing over 100,000 campers to the area each year – Lake Myers RV Resort in Mocksville and Thousand Trails Preserve in Advance.  Racing enthusiasts and spectators throughout the country are welcome at Farmington Dragway each weekend throughout the year.
